The LG InstaView series of refrigerators have surpassed 5.3 million units in cumulative global sales, marking the 10th anniversary of its 2016 launch; as its name suggests, the refrigerator lineup is known for a feature allowing users to see its contents inside without opening the door.
LG InstaView Found Commercial Success

Since its launch, LG has sold approximately 5.3 million units of InstaView refrigerators, a figure the company equates to roughly one unit sold every minute over the decade. North America represents the product’s largest market, accounting for approximately 30% of cumulative sales. The product has also been well received in Europe, where energy efficiency, sustainability and food preservation performance are emphasized, while Asia and Latin American markets has seen steady sales growth as demand for premium appliances rise.
The key of InstaView feature is to reduce cold-air loss associated with frequent door opening by allowing users to view the refrigerator’s interior without opening it, thereby reducing energy consumption in the process. With this, users simply knock the door twice to reveal what’s inside, only opening the doors when something needs to be retrieved.
LG noted that consumer feedback on the InstaView refrigerator has shifted over time, from an initial focus on functional benefits like the aforementioned viewing feature, toward broader satisfaction with the product’s “refined design and the enjoyment it brings to everyday kitchen use.” Over the past decade, the product has received various awards, including the Red Dot Design Award, iF Design Award, IDEA and the CES Innovation Award.
Pokdepinion: Safe to say this line up refrigerators stood against the test of time.
