Razer announced the Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic 8KHz lineup, adding a Hall Effect magnetic keyboard series to its esports peripheral range. The lineup is available in Tenkeyless (TKL) and 65% form factors, and includes Razer’s Hall Effect Magnetic Switches along with 8000 Hz HyperPolling and additional input control features.
Razer Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic 8KHz
The Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic 8KHz models use Razer’s in-house Hall Effect Magnetic Switches, which use magnetic sensing for input detection and support adjustable actuation ranging from 0.1mm to 4.0mm. The switches include a Rapid Trigger Mode, which resets keys based on movement rather than a fixed reset point, and are rated for a 100 million keystroke lifespan.
According to Razer, the keyboards achieved an average latency of 0.60 milliseconds in testing conducted at 0.1mm actuation and 8000 Hz polling, which the company said represents an 8% improvement over the nearest competing HE magnetic keyboard tested (although the company’s analog-optical keyboards still achieve better latency in this regard). That being said, such figures basically imperceptible even to most games, although those who seek every last bit of advantage could find this a convincing selling point.
The lineup includes several actuation-related features: Razer Snap Flex allows two separate actions to be assigned to a single key – one triggered on press and another on release; Dynamic Keystroke allows up to four actions to be mapped to a single key based on actuation depth, and includes an Instant Cancel Control function for cancelling unintended follow-up actions. There’s also Dual-Keypress Priority designed to prevent accidental keypresses from affecting intended movement inputs.
The keyboards support customization through Razer Synapse software on PC, along with onboard adjustments and a browser-based option via Synapse Web, which does not require software installation and allows settings to be saved across different devices and environments.
The Razer Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic Tenkeyless 8KHz is priced at RM599 and is available now at Razer.com, Razer Stores and select retailers worldwide; the Razer Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic Mini 65% 8KHz is priced at RM509 and is available through the same channels.
Pokdepinion: Not sure about the legality of Snap Flex given that Valve has banned things like Snap Tap in CS2 already.
