HUAWEI Malaysia officially launched the HUAWEI Watch GT 7 Series, comprising the Watch GT 7 in 46mm and 41mm sizes, along with the Watch GT 7 Pro. A key addition specific to Malaysia is the Diabetes Risk Study, a research initiative led by Universiti Malaya to help Malaysians identify potential risks of diabetes early on.
HUAWEI Watch GT 7 Series
Diabetes Risk Study uses pulse-wave signals collected through the watch’s PPG sensor, combined with data such as age, gender, height and weight, to assess potential diabetes risk after three to 14 days of continuous wear. HUAWEI stresses the assessment is intended to raise health awareness rather than serve as a diagnosis (do see a doctor in such cases).
The series also includes CE- and MDA-certified Pulse Wave Arrhythmia Analysis and a new Physical Readiness Score that combines recovery, heart rate variability, sleep, activity and emotional wellbeing into a daily assessment. The Watch GT 7 Pro adds CE- and MDA-certified ECG and Arterial Stiffness Assessment, alongside morning briefings, Emotional Wellbeing 2.0, sleep and women’s health tracking, and an on-wrist Health Community feature.
The Watch GT 7 46mm comes in Yellow, Blue and Black, while the 41mm model is available in Pink, Blue, White and Grey. The Watch GT 7 Pro, offered in Yellow, Green and Black, pairs a “nano-tech ceramic bezel” with an “aerospace-grade” titanium alloy frame and sapphire glass. All models feature triple protection through a super-hard metal coating, IP69 dust resistance and 5 ATM water resistance, along with an AMOLED display reaching up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness.
For outdoor use, the series includes AI-XDR Positioning, which combines GNSS with onboard sensors to maintain route tracking through tunnels and other signal-blocked areas, supported by Smart Route Reconstruction to estimate interrupted sections of a route.
Sport-specific features include trail running and hiking metrics, offline maps, GPX route import and Strava integration, while the Pro model adds golf tracking and freediving support up to 40 meters. The series also covers skiing and snowboarding with access to maps for more than 3,000 resorts, cycling tools such as Climb Planning and Sharp Turn Alerts, and racket-sport apps including Tennix, PickleX and Goodshot.
Battery life reaches up to 21 days under light use for the Watch GT 7 Pro and 46mm model, and up to 14 days for the 41mm version, powered by HUAWEI’s high-silicon stacked battery technology.
