Pokemon GO players finding more than just Pokemon

After recent news about third-party sources harboring Pokemon GO with hidden malware, Pokemon GO player finding a dead body while out and about to catch them all, this recent piece of news doesn’t really come as a surprise. Armed robbers in O’Fallon, Missouri, are using the popular new augmented reality game to lure people to them.

The four robbers have managed to loot 11 poor unsuspecting victims before they were nabbed by the authorities. The authorities believe that the modus operandi of these robbers is to set up a beacon at a Pokestop to attract their victims to a secluded area where they are located, then proceeding to rob these players at gunpoint.

Let’s take this as a lesson; when it comes to Malaysia, don’t walk around blindly to secluded areas just to catch that Pokemon. If you really believe there is a rare Pokemon there, go in a mob like this, and rob those robbers!

Pokdepinion: I hope that when Pokemon GO comes to Malaysia, we do not see a spike in accidents and crime rates. It does seem effective to get usually sedentary teens to walk around though.
