Rakuten Kobo has announced the Kobo Remote, which does exactly one thing and one thing only: flip pages virtually through compatible Kobo eReaders. It may not sound like much, but the company’s sales pitch here is “unparalleled convenience and the absolute minimum of movement to disturb your reading coziness.”
Kobo Remote

Essentially, Kobo Remote operates on the same principle as presentation remotes, except this is for eReaders – users can turn navigate pages through the two buttons onboard, meaning no more moving hands to flip between pages. The remote also features a single replaceable AAA battery for “months of uninterrupted reading”.
In terms of compatibility, it works with all Bluetooth-enabled models, including Kobo Clara 2E, Kobo Clara BW, Kobo Clara Colour, Kobo Libra 2, Kobo Libra Colour, Kobo Sage, Kobo Elipsa, and Kobo Elipsa 2E. It’ll also work with Kobo Audiobooks in limited capacity, with basic playback controls like play/pause and volume supported on those devices.
Available in Black and White, the Kobo Remote will be available for purchase in Malaysia both online and in stores starting November 4, 2025, at a retail price of RM155.
Pokdepinion: That’s a tad pricey for a remote.
