Sony Malaysia in collaboration with PPB Properties is kicking off the Penang Heritage Photography Fiesta 2026, inviting photography enthusiasts to take part in the event at New World Park, Penang, on Sunday, 18 October 2026. Now in its fifth edition, the Fiesta centers on a Photo Hunt challenge that encourages participants to document the people, culture, and everyday moments of Penang beyond its well-known landmarks.

The event is structured as a day of creative activities rather than a standalone competition, bringing together photographers of varying experience levels around a shared focus on visual storytelling. Participants will be guided by visual storytellers Vincent Thian and William Ooi, who will share their perspectives and photography experience during the event. A limited number of Sony camera loan units will also be made available for participants who want to try Sony’s imaging equipment during the Fiesta.
The competition is split into two categories – Youth and Open – allowing both newer and more experienced photographers to take part. Winning photographers will receive a range of Sony prizes, with the Grand Prize winner awarded a Sony ILCE-7CM2L/B (ɑ7C II) camera kit; category winners across Youth and Open will also have a chance to win a ZV-E10K Vlog Camera or WH-1000XM6 Noise-Cancelling Headphones.
Through the collaboration, Sony Malaysia and PPB Properties said they aim to “encourage more Malaysians to explore their creativity, discover new perspectives and celebrate Penang through photography.” Registration details and the full terms and conditions for the Penang Heritage Photography Fiesta 2026 are available at the official website.
