ASUS Announces Two Separate Online Launch Events On CES 2024
Taiwanese PC maker ASUS has announced two upcoming keynotes for laptop launches – as usual, it’ll split into the standard consumer portfolio launch and the gaming-centric ROG “For Those Who Dare” event that showcases latest gaming hardware.
The ROG event, officially titled For Those Who Dare: Transcendence is set to be a virtual launch event taking place on the CES 2024 itself. The event is set for January 8, 2024 at 15:00 PT (Jan 9, 2024 at 07:00 MYT) on the ROG CES microsite. In the press release, the company has confirmed that new models, such as ROG Phone 8 and Zephyrus laptops will be revealed through this launch, alongside the usual dose of gaming peripherals.
It looks like the backside connector motherboards could also make an appearance here, going by the wording. ASUS says: “ROG is also going to unveil a new approach to component design, with innovative powerful and stylish new desktop PCs that will revolutionize the image of open-architecture products.” We imagine the so-called ‘open-architecture products’ most likely point to desktop PCs, and given that backside connectors have begun to gain traction in the PC market, perhaps this is where it’ll officially take off.
On the other side, you have the consumer-centric In Search of Incredible: Transcendence which focuses on sustainability and AI (obviously). The span of this event will be quite a lot wider, as the company will reveal new products in consumer, creator, business, desktop, networking, display, mini-PC (including the recently acquired NUCs from Intel) segments, and more. The keynote will begin on the day after ROG’s, on Jan 9, 2024 at 09:00 PT (Jan 10, 2024 at 01:00 MYT).
Here’s a reminder that we’re officially counting down the final 10 days of 2023, which means the CES 2024 is happening very soon. Expect Intel’s Core Ultra processors powering these new laptops – though don’t rule out AMD’s Ryzen 8040 series just yet.
Pokdepinion: Could we be seeing a redesigned Zephyrus lineup? Looking forward to that one.
