In its “Always Incredible” virtual launch event at CES 2025, ASUS has announced new models for its Zenbook and Vivobook lineup of laptops. This includes the Zenbook A14, claimed as the world’s lightest Copilot+ PC, as well as the Vivobook 14/16 laptops – all three models feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X SoCs.
Zenbook A14
The Zenbook A14 (UX3407) is the first sub-kilogram Qualcomm Snapdragon-powered laptop weighing just 980 grams, enough for ASUS to claim it as the “world’s lightest Copilot+ PC” (in other words, the lightest laptop on the market in the past several months). Unlike previous Zenbooks, the chassis is entirely constructed using the smudge-resistant Ceraluminum material, and it features a distinctly minimalist design this time around. ASUS claims up to 32 hours of video playback via its 70Wh battery, but other specs remain unannounced for now.
Vivobook 14/16 Series
Meanwhile, the Vivobook 14/16 series now gets a redesign, with the Snapdragon X (A1407/A1607) and AMD’s Ryzen AI 7 350 processor (M1407KA/M1607KA) featured in this new chassis. Both models features a decent I/O, with a pair of USB4 and USB 3.2 Gen1 (5Gbps) Type-A ports, along with HDMI and a headphone jack; they’re available in Cool Silver and Quiet Blue colorways, plus an additional Platinum Gold version for 14-inch models.
The ASUS Zenbook A14 will be available in Malaysia by late February 2025, with the Vivobook 14/16 series following in early March. Pricing is unannounced at this writing.
