GIGABYTE today announced the official availability of its AERO X16 and GAMING A16 laptops in Malaysia. While both technically counts as gaming laptops, the brand officially positions the AERO series towards creators, while the GAMING series is pretty self-explanatory.
GIGABYTE AERO X16 & GAMING A16

The GIGABYTE AERO X16 is equipped AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor with two GPU options (RTX 5070 or RTX 5060) in an otherwise highly identical configuration, though both GPUs’ TGP are capped at 85W. Display options are tied to the GPU, with the RTX 5070 version featuring a QHD+ 165Hz IPS panel, while the RTX 5060 version gets a FHD+ 165Hz IPS panel, both of which are Pantone-validated. Other specs include 16GB DDR5 memory (single-channel), 1TB SSD, Wi-Fi 6E, and Dolby Atmos support; battery is a 76Wh unit rated for up to 12 hours, and the laptop weighs just 1.9kg.

Meanwhile, the GIGABYTE GAMING A16 comes with four GPU options: RTX 5070, RTX 5060, RTX 5050, and RTX 4050, all with 85W maximum TGP (CPU options are the same with Intel Core i7-13620H, though RTX 4050 gets an additional variant featuring i5-13420H). All variants have the same 16-inch FHD+ 165Hz IPS display with MUX support, 16GB DDR5 RAM, and storage ranging from 512GB to 1TB. The RTX 50 variants are slightly heavier at 2.2kg, while the RTX 4050 variants share the exact same chassis as the AERO X16, with matching weight and dimensions.

Both laptops share a common trait: because having a dedicated Copilot button isn’t enough (which thankfully didn’t replace the right Ctrl button), GIGABYTE built another dedicated button for its own “AI agent” called GiMATE. The gist of this piece of software is pretty much a single app that covers system controls with some generative AI features (like a chatbot and image generation tool) sprinkled all over, though users can even press the dedicated button to talk directly to the chatbot if changing controls or opening apps is somehow too cumbersome to do with mouse clicks.
For pricing, the GIGABYTE AERO X16 starts from RM6,199, while the GAMING A16 starts from RM3,399 – all models are now available nationwide.
Pokdepinion: That’s fairly conservative TGP targets compared to other gaming laptops I’ve seen.
