HUAWEI Unveils New Ultra-Lightweight MateBook X Pro, Preorders Now Open

HUAWEI Unveils New Ultra-Lightweight MateBook X Pro, Preorders Now Open

HUAWEI has just revealed globally its newly redesigned MateBook X Pro in Dubai just now – and the company has announced that Malaysians will be among the first to get ahold of this new sub-kilogram laptop. Malaysians can now pre-order the laptop by placing a deposit as low as RM70 today until 12th May 2024, and the company will be offering gifts worth up to RM4,582 for those placing pre-order deposits.

So, specs: the MateBook X Pro will come with up to Core Ultra 9 185H processor paired with up to 32GB RAM and 2TB SSD; elsewhere, you get 90W charging for its 70Wh battery, 3D Metaline Antenna, dual-fan cooling, and Huawei Super Device integration support. The display is courtesy of a 14.2-inch OLED panel rated for up to 1,000 nits of brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, 3120 x 2080 resolution, 10-bit color, and Adobe RGB/DCI-P3 gamut support with Delta-E of less than 1.

The biggest change, however, lies in the chassis – it measures just 13.5mm, with the total weight shredded down to just 980g thanks to the use of lightweight magnesium alloy. This makes it among the lightest laptops available on the market, though with the extreme weight and thickness shaving measures, it comes with a relatively limited I/O – only a pair of Thunderbolt 4 ports on the left and a lone USB-C port on the right is all you get.

As of this writing, HUAWEI has yet to announce the official pricing, though we can expect two configurations available at launch: Core Ultra 7 with 16GB+1TB and Core Ultra 9 with 32GB+2TB. Both will feature Morandi Blue and White color options.

Pokdepinion: That is seriously light by all measures.
