HONOR Introduces X8b and X7b To Its X Series Lineup

HONOR Introduces X8b and X7b To Its X Series Lineup

After the launch of the much-anticipated X9b 5G, HONOR today is bringing two new additions to the X Series lineup – the X8b and X7b. Like the X9b succeeding X9a, these are successors of their respective ‘a’-suffix models.

First is the HONOR X8b: this smartphone comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC, 8+8GB RAM, and 512GB of internal storage. The design arguably looks like it took its inspiration from the iPhone 15 with the rectangular pill-shaped cutout (Dynamic Island in Apple speak), and the same goes for the same-ish looking rear camera bump. That aside, you’re getting a 6.7-inch FHD+ 90Hz panel with 3240Hz PWM dimming and 2000 nits of brightness. Its battery is a 4,500mAh cell that supports 35W charging via USB-C.

The camera department features the primary Samsung ISOCELL HM6 108MP sensor that includes a 48mm equivalent focal length mode for portrait shots. Accompanying the main sensor is the 5MP ultrawide and 2MP macro sensor. On the front side, you get a single 50MP front camera with automatic POV switch. In terms of the chassis itself, it’s very slim and lightweight at just 6.78mm thick and 166g of weight.

Meanwhile, down below the product stack is the HONOR X7b. This one features the same SD680 chipset and 8+8GB of RAM + 256GB of storage. The best part goes to the battery, which comes with a massive 6,000mAh capacity. That meant the phone is slightly on the heavier and thicker side, though by no means oversized at just 8.24mm thick and 199g heavy.

Like the X8b, it uses the same 6.7-inch display with the same PWM and brightness capabilities, and the camera array remains the same 108MP + 5MP + 2MP layout. The front-facing camera, however, is now an 8MP sensor, occupying a smaller spot in the screen.

HONOR did not list an official MSRP in its press release – however, there have been listings with prices for both models at stores like TMT. According to the smartphone maker, both devices will officially go on sale on December 22, 2023.

Pokdepinion: Considering the battery capacity, it’s a very lightweight phone.
