We were invited by the folks at OPPO Malaysia to attend the Inno Day 2021 in KL to see some of the latest developments from the company, which includes their very first foldable device, the OPPO Find N.

Inno Day 2021

OPPO Find N

Starting the list is the OPPO Find N, where it’s been said that they’ve worked on since 2018. It comes with a large OLED screen on the inside and a smaller display on the outside that’s usable when it is closed. When it comes to the inner display, it sports a 7.1-inch 120Hz refresh rate display, in case you’re wondering. There’s dual stereo speakers as well, making media consumption more enjoyable.

The device is rated to being able to fold 200,000 times. One might find it a shame that the outer screen only offers 60Hz refresh rate however. Other than that, it packs a Snapdragon 888 chipset, up to 12GB RAM that’s mated with 512GB internal storage and it offers a 50MP triple camera setup at the back. Under the hood is a 4500mAh battery which you can charge both wired and wirelessly at 33W and 15W respectively.

Unfortunately, it seems that the device will be sold exclusively in China only, at least for the time being.

OPPO Air Glass

Then we have the OPPO Air Glass, their AR (Assisted Reality) device that’s equipped with the company’s self-developed Spark Micro Projector, micro LED, and supports four different user interactions through touch, voice, head movement, and hand motion.

It weighs just 30g and can be worn like normal glasses. The unfortunate thing is that if you are wearing one, you can’t attach it on yours as you’d need the whole glass for it to work.

With their very own Micro Projector, micro LED, and custom wavelength technology, the OPPO Air Glass can deliver bright and sharp content, whether it’s outdoor or indoor.

The glasses can be operated using the Smart Glass App on OPPO Watch 2 and any OPPO smartphone that’s utilizing ColorOS 11 or higher.

MariSilicon X

Meet the MariSilicon X, the brand’s self-developed chip which supposedly improves images for video and photography taken on smartphones.

It allows for real-time RAW processing to capture 4K AI Night Video with live preview, which is pretty impressive. They’ve said that it can achieve up to 20x faster performance compared with the OPPO Find X3 Pro, thanks to their AI Noise Reduction Algorithm.

Retractable camera

Last but not least, they’ve showcase the retractable camera that we’ve reported previously. When you open up the camera app, the camera will push forward and vice versa when you shut it down. It has a similar protection mechanism as a pop-up camera as it will return to its original place if it notices that the phone is physically dropped.

That sums up what Inno Day 2021 had to bring. Which one are you excited about? For more on the latest tech and gaming news plus reviews, stay tuned to Pokde.net.

Pokdepinion: Personally, the OPPO Find N feels nice on the hands and I feel that it’s more compact than other foldable devices in the market right now. Of course, there needs to be more than that to make it special, so I’ll leave my judgement for later if/when I get to test it out fully.
