The realme X2 Pro is so “Pro”, that it is mind-boggling. For a brand that used to call the mid-range realme 2 Pro their flagship, they have definitely made massive leaps forward to bring us the realme X2 Pro, the first true flagship from realme.

Packing a Snapdragon 855+, the realme X2 Pro goes toe-to-toe with the likes of the OnePlus 7T and Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G. realme also touts liquid cooling to deliver better performance during long gaming sessions. The higher end 128GB and 256GB variants even come with UFS 3.0 storage, although the base model comes with only 64GB UFS 2.1 storage.

Another area that we see it matches the OnePlus 7T is its 90 Hz Super AMOLED panel. realme seems to have opted for a slightly smaller display though, measuring just 6.5″ versus the OnePlus 7T’s 6.55″ one. With that said, other than that 0.05″ less, you aren’t losing anything with the realme X2 Pro supporting full coverage of the DCI-P3 gamut and HDR10+.

Over on the back of the device you will find a quad -camera setup. It’s definitely a huge upgrade over anything else realme has released. Fronted by a 64MP f/1.8 camera, the realme X2 Pro is set to take photography to the next level. There’s also a 13MP f/2.4 2x telephoto camera and an 8MP f/2.3 ultra-wide angle shooter. Before you think the 8MP ultra-wide shooter is the same as the ones in the realme 5 Pro and realme 5, let me stop you there. It comes with autofocus for macro shots from as close as 2.5cm, and can also shoot 720p960 slow-mo videos. It’s a lot more awesome. Last but not least, there’s a 2MP depth sensor. Because why not, #LeapToQuad.

realme X2 Pro Specs

  • Snapdragon 855+, octa-core up to 2.96 GHz, 7nm
  • Up to 12GB LPPDR4x RAM
  • Up to 256GB UFS 3.0 storage
  • 6.5″ FHD+ AMOLED display, 1000 nits, 90 Hz refresh rate
  • 64MP f/1.8 + 13MP f/2.4 2x telephoto + 8MP f/2.3 ultra-wide + 2MP depth sensor
  • 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera
  • 4000 mAh battery, 50W Super VOOC, USB-PD, Qualcomm QuickCharge 4.0+
  • 6GB+64GB: CNY 2699 (~RM1599)
    8GB+128GB: CNY 2899 (~RM1717)
    12GB+256GB: CNY 3299 (~RM1954)

The realme X2 Pro comes clad in Gorilla Glass 5 on front and back, and will be available in Luna and Poseidon color options. And oh, there’s a headphone jack. It has only been launched in China, and given the past history of the realme X series, they most probably won’t make their way to Malaysia. Which is a bummer, because it will definitely kill the flagship killer which has vowed to never settle.

Pokdepinion: I am so definitely getting this if realme Malaysia brings this into Malaysia.
