Samsung Galaxy S24 Unboxing and First Impressions
We got our hands on the new Samsung Galaxy S24 but before we publish the review, have a taste of it with our unboxing and first impressions.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Unboxing
The Samsung Galaxy S24 comes with your standard Samsung affair for its packaging; being simple in nature with a picture and name listed on the front of the box. Inside the box, we found the following items:
- USB-C to USB-C cable
- SIM ejector pin
- Documentations
- The Samsung Galaxy S24 itself
First Impressions
For our review unit, we received the Amber Yellow color option, which is interesting to me as it looks more white than yellow to my eyes. This one doesn’t have the Titanium naming scheme for all the colors as it’s not made from the material since that is reserved for the top-of-the-line Ultra model. In fact, it uses Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and a stainless steel chassis as opposed to the newer Gorilla Glass Armor and titanium build. We’re still fine with this since it’s still built well and it feels premium.
Another key difference with the Ultra variant, which is also present in its preceding series, is that it has rounded corners. The rear itself has a matte finish, which is great as it’s minimizes fingerprint smudges but you do have to wipe it down every now and then to make sure it stays clean. Alternatively, a protective case will solve all your problems.
Flip the S24 Ultra over and you will see a beautiful 6.2-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz as well as punchhole camera cutout. It is also flat so no curved display for the entire series this year, which is great since I’ve personally gotten tired of curved displays, especially since it’s harder to find accessories like screen protectors and I occasionally slide off the edges by accident.
The most staggering difference for the Samsung Galaxy S24 and its Plus brethren with the Ultra variant is that this one is powered by the Exynos 2400. This is something worth getting excited for as bringing Exynos back means the Korean giant is confident it can perform better than ever before, and we’ve already heard stories about how good it performs. Now we have the opportunity to verify it ourselves. In case you’re wondering, this also gets the Galaxy AI treatment, which is arguably the biggest update the entire series gets this year.
