Google’s recent smartphone naming scheme may have left some people unimpressed, but it seems Samsung could be taking a similar, bold step in the near future. According to a tipster on X, Samsung is reportedly considering a significant change in the branding of its upcoming Galaxy S26 series.

The rumor suggests that the Galaxy S26 Ultra might not be called that after all. Instead, Samsung is contemplating rebranding it as the Galaxy S26 Note to emphasize its built-in S Pen feature—a nod to the iconic Galaxy Note series. This move could be a strategic attempt to leverage the nostalgic value of the Note name while highlighting the productivity-focused features of the Ultra model.

But that’s not the only potential change in the works. The Galaxy S26+, which has traditionally been positioned as a larger alternative to the standard Galaxy S model, might be rebranded as the Galaxy S26 Pro. This shift could be Samsung’s way of jumping on the “Pro” bandwagon that’s become increasingly popular across the tech industry, a term currently missing from its mobile lineup.

It’s important to note that these changes are still in the rumor phase. The source emphasizes that Samsung is only considering these branding shifts and nothing is set in stone yet. Whether these rebranding efforts will resonate with consumers or face backlash, like Google’s recent naming conventions, remains to be seen.
