The key highlight of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy is the inclusion of the Adreno 750 GPU, which is set to operate at an impressive 1,000 MHz, according to Ice Universe. To provide some context, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, found within the Galaxy S23 series, featured the Adreno 740 GPU with a peak clock speed of 719 MHz. This represents a substantial 28% increase in clock speed, promising enhanced graphics performance for the upcoming devices.
It’s worth noting that Qualcomm has not yet officially confirmed the clock speed of the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 GPU. Therefore, it remains uncertain whether this Galaxy-exclusive version will introduce an upgrade to the GPU, or if the boost will primarily focus on the CPU’s performance.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 family is set to witness a chipset division, with some versions powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy and others utilizing the Exynos 2400. The latest rumors suggest that the Snapdragon chipset will be the driving force behind the Galaxy S24 Ultra across all regions, while the other two models may adopt it in select markets. Meanwhile, the Exynos 2400 is expected to be the preferred chipset for the Galaxy S24 and S24+ in Europe and South Korea.
Pokdepinion: That’s an insane clock speed for a mobile GPU. With that being said however, I wonder how sustainable that level of performance can bring. By that, I mean from a thermal and battery efficiency perspective. After all, no point in having great power if it can’t be used for long.
