vivo Introduces Y27 4G Entry-level Smartphone To Malaysia

vivo is launching a new budget smartphone named Y27 4G – the ‘4G’ part likely is named to differentiate itself from the original Y27 released all the way back in 2014. The new version will feature 44W fast charging on the 5000mAh battery, and comes with a single configuration with 6GB RAM + 128GB of onboard storage.

Powering the device is the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC (the 5G counterpart gets the faster Dimensity 6020 chip), while the rest of the spec are much identical – meaning you get the same 50MP + 2MP rear camera array, 8MP selfie camera, and the same 6.64-inch FHD+ display (LCD panel).

The vivo Y27 4G is set to launch this Saturday (July 15, 2023) – with the price of RM699. It’ll come with two color options: Sea Blue and Burgundy Black. The company says more information should arrive in due course when the phone launches in two days.

Pokdepinion: Seems like an unusual decision to launch both 5G and 4G versions of the phone with the SoC being the sole difference.
