Xiaomi Files Lawsuit Against US Government
In case you’ve missed the news, Xiaomi has been banned by the US government where they claim that the company as a “Communist Chinese military company”. You may recall that they did the same thing to HUAWEI previously. In the latest news, it appears that Xiaomi is taking action against them.
Xiaomi sues US government
The ban from the US government means that the brand would not be allowed to do dealings with American securities and investment companies, which is needless to say, a pretty huge deal.
In turn, Xiaomi Corp has decided to file a lawsuit towards the U.S Defense and Treasury departments, where they are challenging the blacklist with the U.S district court of Columbia. The company has claimed that the blacklist to be “unconstitutional” and has said:
Xiaomi faces imminent, severe, and irreparable harm if the Designation remains in place and the restrictions take effect
The decision to blacklist the company was made by the previous Trump administration, considering that Biden has officially took over, it’d would be interesting to see how the story progresses. We’ll update you should there be any new updates, so till then, stay tuned to Pokde.net.
