Acer Malaysia is returning to the tablet market with the launch of the new Iconia Tab P11 and Iconia Tab A8, designed for both family and educational markets. Both tablets will be available starting September 1 this year.
Iconia Tab Lineup Returns
The Iconia Tab P11 features a surprisingly high-end 2K QLED display that measures at 11 inches, comes with a 90Hz refresh rate and 100% NTSC color gamut (which is slightly wider than DCI-P3, albeit more adjacent to green in the CIE chart). Acer says the “in-cell” touch panel improves touch responsiveness as it is thinner than lighter than standard LCDs.
Within its 550-gram and 8.1mm thick chassis houses the MediaTek MT8781 octa-core SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage (expandable up to 512GB via microSD slot). Battery life is rated up to 13 hours of video playback, and it supports fast charging. The tablet also gets two cameras – one 8MP shooter at the rear, and a 5MP sensor at the front.
Meanwhile, the Iconia Tab A8 comes with an 8.7-inch IPS panel and tips the scale at 400g, with a chassis 8mm thick that houses the 6000mAh battery. The processor is an undisclosed Allwinner octa-core chip, coupled with 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage (plus microSD support). The tablet also includes a 5MP front camera and an 8MP rear camera.
Acer is offering a promotional discount on both models until September 14 – the Iconia Tab P11 will be available for RM999 (original price RM1,099) and the Iconia Tab A8 for RM499 (original price RM699) during this period, with a free casing included with each purchase.
Pokdepinion: 2K QLED? That’s a surprisingly fancy spec for a budget-class tablet.
