Gaming smartphone brand and Nubia subsidiary REDMAGIC has recently announced its REDMAGIC Astra gaming tablet in Malaysia, which was launched earlier China under a different name, REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 3 Pro. Inside this 9.06-inch tablet you’ll find some of the highest-end specs available in the market today.
REDMAGIC Astra Tablet
The tablet is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and offers configurations of up to 24GB RAM and 1TB storage; it features a 9.06-inch OLED display with a 2400 x 1504 resolution and 165Hz refresh rate, along with 2,000Hz peak touch sampling rate for minimal input delay (having an OLED panel means you get instantaneous pixel response times as well). The battery onboard is rated at 8,200mAh with 80W fast charging support.
Cooling is one of the few things REDMAGIC Astra is really good at, given its gaming-adjacent nature; specifically, it’s the 13-layer ICE-X cooling system with liquid metal and dual-layer vapor chambers sandwiching the Snapdragon chipset to keep the thermals in check. This has two benefits: more stable gaming performance, and improved charging efficiency. And of course, there’s REDMAGIC’s signature RGB exhaust fan that spools up to 20,000RPM to actively push the heat away from the system.
Meanwhile, audio and haptics are supported by stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra certification and dual x-axis linear motors to assist the speakers for the extra oomph, and gaming features are accessible via X-Gravity Gaming Center, offering features like frame generation for supported games to hit 2K resolution at 120FPS. On the subject of software, it runs REDMAGIC OS 10.5 based on Android 15.
The REDMAGIC Astra Gaming Tablet will be available in three variants: 12GB+256GB at RM3,399, 16GB+512GB at RM4,199, and 24GB+1TB at RM5,199 (from 14 July, 8pm to 31 July 2025, all configurations will feature promotional pricing along with free gifts upon purchase).
