At Galaxy Unpacked July 2024, we got a glimpse of a brand new smartwatch taking the helm of the Korean giant’s wearable lineup. It’s the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra with the Galaxy Watch7 right beside it. Here’s everything that you need to know on the new wearables.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra

The Galaxy Watch Ultra builds on the Galaxy Watch7’s features, offering enhanced fitness experiences for high-performance users. It boasts a Titanium Grade 4 frame, 10ATM water resistance, and operates across a wide range of altitudes. The watch includes new features like Multi-sports tile, Functional Threshold Power (FTP) for cycling, and Personalized HR Zone for optimal workout intensity.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra also features a Quick Button for instant control, an Emergency Siren for safety, and dedicated watch faces that switch to Night Mode for readability in the dark. With a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, it ensures visibility even in bright sunlight. The watch offers the longest battery life in the Galaxy Watch lineup, with up to 100 hours in Power Saving mode and 48 hours in Exercise Power Saving mode.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra will be available in a 47mm size in Dark Gray, Titanium, and White.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra and the more affordable Galaxy Watch7 will be available for pre-order in Malaysia starting 10 July 2024, with general availability starting 24 July 2024. Unfortunately for the Samsung Galaxy Ring, it will not be coming to Malaysia anytime soon. That isn’t to say that it will never come here but rather, the sale of the ring will be limited to specific markets initially. Hopefully, we’ll get an announcement on it sooner rather than later so stay tuned.
Pokdepinion: I would go for the Ultra just for the bigger battery honestly. Everyone wants a smartwatch that can last as long as possible, and if it can go easily more than a day, even better so we don’t have to charge it so often. Given that it’s so feature-packed however, it might still be a tough challenge.
