Genshin Impact Version 7.2, titled “Hour of Ruin,” launches on 4 November 2026, bringing one of the game’s most ambitious story chapters yet. As the Nails of Retribution awaken and threaten civilization across Teyvat, representatives from all seven nations answer the Tsaritsa’s call and converge on Snezhnaya to coordinate a response. Two new characters, Mitya and Valeriy, join the playable roster alongside the opening of a brand-new region in eastern Snezhnaya.
Genshin Impact Version 7.2 Story and New Region
The Version 7.2 Archon Quest marks a historic moment in the game’s narrative: all seven nations of Teyvat unite to confront the Holy Soil phenomenon triggered by Ronova. Mysterious pillars of light appear across the world as energy fluctuations from the Nails of Retribution intensify, plunging each nation into crisis. Players will join the Archons, Neuvillette, and allies from across Teyvat to confront this unprecedented threat.
Completing the Archon Quest within the designated period rewards players with 560 Primogems and Character Ascension Materials for Mitya. Tackling the latest Secret Tsarist Assignments yields additional rewards, including a Snezhnaya-themed Wind Glider.

A new region opens in eastern Snezhnaya this version. Players can board a railway to Novokitezhgrad, a subterranean city built entirely underground and encased in Kresnik Kristall, standing in stark contrast to the snow-covered surface above. Travelling further east leads to Wingspan Peak, where Old Kitezhgrad, Snezhnaya’s first city founded by the Belyi Tsar, is located.
Gameplay in the new region involves neutralising contaminated Kresnik Kristall deposits using new Prime Ice Constructs and two elemental shotguns, while uncovering more of Snezhnaya’s past. New Meeting Point quests follow Danica on a clandestine assignment in Novokitezhgrad and Mitya investigating soil near Teplo Oasis, with their separate paths eventually crossing. A new World Boss from the ocean depths also awaits challengers in Novokitezhgrad.
New Characters Mitya and Valeriy in Version 7.2

Mitya joins as a 5-star Electro Catalyst wielder. Described as an optimistic scientist who defies the Heavenly Principles, he converts the team’s Superconduct reactions into Stellar-Conduct reactions and boosts the entire party’s Stellar-Conduct damage while accumulating special energy. His Elemental Skill can be pressed to release stored energy for periodic Stellar-Conduct damage, or held to unleash a rapid flurry of enhanced Charged Attacks, letting him function both off-field and on-field.
His Elemental Burst deals AoE Electro damage and generates additional special energy to sustain rotations in prolonged battles. In certain areas of Snezhnaya, his detection device also helps players uncover hidden paths and unlock a reward that changes Mitya’s appearance.

Valeriy is a 4-star Electro Sword wielder and disciplined Major of the Armory Palace. He provides shields and boosts Electro damage, particularly for Stellar-Conduct reaction teams. In the first phase of Event Wishes, Mitya and Valeriy make their debut alongside a rerun of Furina. The second phase brings the return of Zibai and Linnea, alongside a new Chronicled Wish featuring selected Natlan characters.
Limited-Time Events and Other Content

A limited-time event tied to the Version 7.2 Archon Quest unites players with allies from Mondstadt to Snezhnaya in a coordinated stand against the Holy Soil phenomenon. Players rescue wounded soldiers, relay critical intel, and carry out urgent assignments. Completing event objectives grants Primogems, enhancement materials, and the chance to invite a 4-star character to their roster. The event area remains explorable even after it concludes.
Additional content this version includes a filming event in Snezhnaya and a mining challenge in Natlan. Miliastra Wonderland receives an update introducing a new masquerade-themed lobby, a free 4-star cosmetic set, and expanded components, assets, and features for stage editing.
Pokdepinion: All seven nations finally showing up together, and it only took the literal end of the world to get them in the same room.
