Canadian-based case maker dbrand has just revealed the exact dimensions of the Nintendo Switch 2 console – and rather amusingly, it looks like they aren’t afraid of the litigation squad at all. Anyone who knows a thing or two about dbrand understands its notoriety for its legal antics, and Sony was part of that list (for the PS5 ‘Faceplates’ debacle).

“Nice try, Nintendo” – that’s the exact quote dbrand CEO Adam Ijaz told The Verge when asked about the source of the console. This whole ordeal is for its upcoming Killswitch 2 case that is set to supersede the original ‘Killswitch’ lineup for the current-day Switch, and according to Ijaz, this is measured via “3D scan of the real hardware.”

Safe to say whatever device dbrand has obtained is certainly not given by Nintendo themselves (and they certainly did not agree to the NDA), otherwise the litigation fury from the Japanese gaming giant might’ve already burned this company to the ground right about now.

The dimensions, as measured by dbrand, are as follows:
– Length: 270mm
– Height: 116mm
– Thickness: 14mm
– Kickstand height: ~55mm
– Kickstand width: 180mm
– Display size: 8 inches
– Joystick height: 6.27mm
– Button height: 1.57mm
– Back trigger height: 9.1mm

Besides that, it was understood that Joy-cons will be magnetically attached with an ejection button at the back, and dbrand’s case was designed around this. There’s also a new “C” button located under the Home button, though the functionality of this button is unknown at this point. Speaking of unknown, the release date – that’s also something that dbrand has no idea of. Nintendo did promise Q1 2025, so we are only months away from the console’s eventual release.

Pokdepinion: dbrand is truly the biggest troll I wouldn’t have it any other way.
