Nintendo Switch 2 Launch Date Pushed To Q1 2025
The successor of Nintendo’s ever-popular handheld console has been talked about for years, and while we finally have a purported launch date of late 2024, it looks like that isn’t happening either. Brazilian outlet O X do Controle claims the successor to the Nintendo Switch will debut in Q1 2025, which has since been corroborated by multiple outlets internationally.
As the new console’s launch gets closer, information about the new device will inevitably slip through the cracks from various game developers: three outlets, namely VideoGamesChronicles, EuroGamer, and Bloomberg each have their respective inside sources claiming the same thing: early 2o25 launch.
The new console was allegedly demoed internally at Gamescom last year, with Unreal Engine 5 and Matrix Awakens running on the device (the latter with DLSS enabled). As far as hardware information goes, it’s scarce: the only known figure is the GPU featuring 1536 CUDA cores from the NVIDIA Ampere architecture, which powers the RTX 30 series GPUs. One can assume its graphics performance to be roughly on par with mid-range integrated graphics from modern AMD and Intel processors based on rough estimations.
For comparison, the original Nintendo Switch is powered by Tegra X1 SoC, with a Maxwell-generation GPU (from the GTX 900 series) with just 256 CUDA cores; which is significantly weaker in performance than any laptop on the market today. The new console should allow 1080p gaming, and in case of docked mode, possibly 4K via DLSS upscaling.

Pokdepinion: This sounds pretty solid – in any case, a pinch of salt wouldn’t hurt.
