Latest Nintendo Switch 2 Rumors: No OLED, Two Launch Dates In 2024
Given the popularity of Nintendo’s handheld console, it’s no surprise that there are plenty of insider info and rumors flying around, giving a peek into the next-gen Switch. The r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit provided a screenshot of leaker SoldierDelta providing some details on the console.
The leaker pointed out that pricing may change (as it always does) – with prices starting from $400, and $449 for the ‘physical model’, though the key parts of this information comes on the bottom part of the message. First off – Nintendo has set two release dates, first on September 24, 2024; then a fallback date of November 3rd, 2024. The latter date will only be used “in case something goes wrong”, the message wrote.
As for other aspects of the console, the leaker pointed out AR will definitely be a thing, courtesy of a new rear camera. However, bad news for some – the Switch 2 will not use an OLED panel, unlike the refreshed Switch OLED model.
Keep in mind these are still rumors and there’s no documents or such to at least partially verify the information – so take all of these with suitable amounts of salt if needed. That being said, we’re around a year away from the purported launch date, so expect more leaks to come.
