DOOM: The Dark Ages Revelations Gains Full RTX Graphics

The new DOOM: The Dark Ages expansion introduces new levels built around deeper puzzles, new demons, and new mysteries; a new weapon, the Chain Spear, adds a distinct combat system that rewards mastery with enhanced power and mobility. In this story, the Slayer is “thrust into a merciless purgatory only escapable by confronting haunting truths and forging new strength with the help of a mysterious ally,” the description reads.

On the technical side, the expansion supports DLSS Multi Frame Generation in up to 6X mode with NVIDIA RTX 50 series GPUs, along with Super Resolution, and path tracing enhanced with DLSS Ray Reconstruction on supported GeForce RTX GPUs. NVIDIA claims a system comprising RTX 5090 GPU with AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor can achieve 310FPS on 4K, or 376FPS on 1440p resolution with all graphical and upscaling settings maxed out, while similar FPS figures can be achieved at 1080p using just RTX 5080, itself offering around half the performance of the Blackwell flagship.

Besides the demon-butchering simulator expansion, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced – the remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag – also launched on Thursday with support for ray-traced reflections and lighting, plus DLSS Multi Frame Generation, Frame Generation, and Super Resolution features. Through the NVIDIA app, GeForce RTX users can further upgrade to DLSS 4.5 with Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and the latest Super Resolution models.

Gray Zone Warfare, the open-world tactical shooter from MADFINGER Games, has also received a notable upgrade. Following its move to Unreal Engine 5.5 and recent content updates, the game now supports native DLSS 4.5 with Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Super Resolution on appropriate GeForce RTX hardware.

Pokdepinion: 310 FPS at 4K in a DOOM expansion is impressive on paper, though it does raise the question of how many people actually own an RTX 5090 to enjoy it.
