On the official Far Cry Twitter account, Ubisoft has officially tweeted out the Far Cry 6 system requirements for PC. It’s not too bad depending on how you plan on enjoying the game.
We’ve included a table right below here for easy reading:
|Minimum||Recommended||Recommended for DXR|
|CPU||Intel Core i5-7500, AMD Ryzen 3 1200, or equivalent||Intel Core i7-8700k, AMD Ryzen 5 3600x, or equivalent||Intel Core i7-10700k, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, or equivalent|
|GPU||NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 4GB, AMD Radeon RX 460 4GB, or equivalent||NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, or equivalent||NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080, AMD Radeon RX 6800, or equivalent|
|RAM||8GB (Dual-channel)||16GB (Dual-channel)||16GB (Dual-channel)|
|OS||Windows 10 x64||Windows 10 x64||Windows 10 x64|
As you can see from the table above, the requirements aren’t heavy. It’s a different story if you want the game to look as best as it can be, like in 4K with DirectX Raytracing enabled, which can only do 30FPS at most. I would probably game at 1440p at most unless I’m doing standard 4K gaming.
If you need to upgrade your PC, keep in mind that there is still an ongoing chip shortage so you will either have to pay extra or wait it out for now. You do still have some time ahead as Far Cry 6 will be officially launched on 7th October 2021.
Pokdepinion: Looks like my gaming machine is more than ready for this…with DXR disabled of course. Would love to have a PC capable of running it at 4K with DXR on one day.
