We may be able to see the first glimpse of the next PlayStation console, as Sony has announced that it will be hosting a short 9-minute “technical presentation” led by Mark Cerny, Lead Architect of the PS5 console (you may remember him back in 2020 when he presented a similar presentation for the PS5).

PS5 Pro Incoming?

The presentation will be broadcasted on PlayStation’s YouTube channel on September 10, 2024 at 11:00PM Malaysian Time. No further details were given beyond this point, but recent hints from the company does heavily suggest that it is now ready to show its new and updated ninth generation console.

The image published by Sony to celebrate PlayStation’s 30th anniversary has shown a faint silhouette of what is alleged to be the PS5 Pro console, the sketch of which was leaked just last week. It features a similar design as the refreshed PS5 “Slim”, splitting the side panels into two halves – except there are now three stripes running across the panels.

According to The Verge, sources has indicate that Sony has mandated all games released on September 16 onwards to be compatible with PS5 Pro, and the release timing for these teasers suggest that the new console will be revealed pretty soon.
