Tekken 8 Will Feature Cross Play and Rollback Netcode, Harada Confirms
The Tekken series Director has confirmed that Tekken 8 will feature cross-platform play and rollback netcode, which are must-have features for fighting game fans.

Tekken series fans can now rejoice as the upcoming Tekken 8 game will have cross-platform play and rollback netcode. The game’s director, Katsuhiro Harada, announced the news via Twitter, revealing that he had been pushing for cross-platform play in Tekken ever since the previous generation of consoles was released.
While Harada did not confirm that cross-platform play will be available at launch, it’s still an exciting development for the Tekken community. Cross-platform play allows players from different platforms to take on each other in Tekken 8, allowing them to match online to show their prowess and hone their skills, regardless of their platform. Rollback netcode will also be featured in the game, offering a better player experience.
Harada said in a separate tweet, “Already installed it, and it already has what you want. The reason WHY we don’t make big announcements like cross-play is Cuz even if we make big announcements, people like you will only say things like, ‘Waaaa! That’s normal in this day and age.'”
In addition to the cross-platform play announcement, Bandai Namco has revealed Asuka Kazama and Leroy Smith as playable characters via a pair of gameplay trailers, showcasing the two fan-favorite characters in action against each other.
While Tekken 8 does not have a confirmed release date yet, it is confirmed to be rolling out later this year. Fans of the series are eagerly anticipating the game’s release and the opportunity to compete against players from all platforms.
