realme has announced that its upcoming 828 Anniversary Celebration, scheduled for 27 August, will feature “two groundbreaking technologies,” one of which is a smartphone battery with a capacity of more than 10,000mAh. Just earlier this year, the company showed off a concept phone with battery capacity at exactly 10,000mAh, so whatever gets introduced will be another improvement on top of that.
More realme Battery Tech Incoming

The Chinese smartphone maker claims its high-density battery uses a 100% silicon anode design, which allows the cells to achieve energy density of 1200Wh/L, a figure claimed to be highest reported for a smartphone. For reference, the aforementioned concept phone is rated at 887Wh/L, while a conventional smartphone battery will achieve around 600Wh/L.
While the exact capacity is kept under wraps for now, we’re inclined the believe the figure should land somewhere between 12,000mAh to 14,000mAh. Since part of the strategy for its 10,000mAh concept phone is to reduce the components’ size to generate more space, the same principle could theoretically apply to this new battery design as well, with the density uplift contributing to the increase in total capacity.
The company also didn’t forget to boast its other battery and charging tech prowess, some of which includes a 320W charging system revealed last year that recharged a 4,420mAh battery in 4 minutes and 30 seconds, along with the realme GT 7 launched earlier this year that combined a 7,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging, and the 10,000mAh concept phone.
realme also confirmed that another new “game-changing” technology will be revealed at the 828 Anniversary Celebration, though details have not yet been disclosed. Registration for the Real Friends Club in Malaysia will open ahead of the event, with updates available on the company’s official Facebook page.
