realme has unveiled a new concept phone that may just be the dream for those with battery anxiety – the 10,000mAh concept phone demonstrates the latest battery tech from the Chinese smartphone maker, and get this: the device measures only 8.5mm in thickness and weighing just over 200 grams, which isn’t far off a regular smartphone’s heft.

According to realme, this concept phone utilizes an ‘ultra-high silicon-content anode battery’ with a 10% silicon ratio, the highest currently reported in the smartphone industry; the energy density is also claimed to be 887Wh/L. Increasing the density is one half of the strategy here, as the other half involves giving the battery more space – the internal design uses what the smartphone maker calls ‘Mini Diamond Architecture’ by cramming all components into a mainboard just 23.4mm wide, which is currently the narrowest among Android devices.

As a concept phone, it wouldn’t hurt to show itself off either, so realme gave the prototype a semi-transparent back cover for displaying both the large-capacity battery and the ultra-compact mainboard. The company also claims that it secured over 60 international patents for the mainboard design, and to give you an idea just how tiny it is, all the space it takes is whatever’s left above the battery per image above.

This is far from the first rodeo by the Chinese smartphone maker in showcasing its battery and fast charging technologies. In fact, it started from GT Neo3’s 150W fast charging, followed by the GT3’s 240W capability, and a 320W concept phone revealed last year that gets 0-100% in mere 4.5 minutes.

Pokdepinion: That’s probably double the battery size of some smartphones these days. Crazy.
