A Dedicated Google Assistant Button Will Be Featured In Future Nokia And LG Smartphones
Google has recently announced that they will be partnering with several brands in applying a dedicated Google Assistant button to their partner’s devices.
If you’ve followed MWC 2019 recently, a couple of devices have already implemented the button such as the Nokia 3.2, Nokia 4.2, Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 3, as well as LG’s G8 ThinQ. There are quite a few functions that the dedicated Google Assistant button can do. Pressing it will launch a digital personal assistant, where you can do things that are similar that you’d find on the app itself.
Additionally, a double tap will activate the upcoming/snapshot view, similar to Google Now. Finally, if you hold the button for a period of time, it will then take you to the “walkie-talkie” feature so that you can force it to listen to the full length query or instruction that you want.
As you might have noticed by the title of this article, Nokia and LG are among the brands that are involved in this partnership with Google. Joining the list are selected devices from Xiaomi, vivo, Alcatel and Blackberry.
Pokdepinion: Personally, I don’t really utilize Google Assistant that much. Regardless, I guess people who do will appreciate this. It’ll be easier to access.
