Acer Day 2019 Kicks Off With New Aspire Laptops, Freebies and Discounts

At a launch event in Mid Valley Megamall today, Acer Malaysia has kicked off the Acer Day 2019 in a big way. Themed “Freedom to Play”, the event saw the launch of two new Acer Aspire laptops, along with freebies and discounts that consumers can take advantage of.

The Acer Day 2019 roadshow will be running at Mid Valley Megamall from today until 4th August 2019 (Sunday). There will be special promotions on a wide variety of products, flash sales, and lucky draws for customers.

Acer Aspire (2019)

The new Acer Aspire 3 and 5 has finally landed in Malaysia. It’s powered by up to the Intel Core i7-8565U, with the Aspire 5 having the NVIDIA GeForce MX250 2GB GDDR5 while the Aspire 3 gets the MX230 2GB GDDR5 instead. The Acer Aspire 3 and 5 will come in either 256GB NVMe SSD or 1TB HDD, and 4GB DDR4 RAM which can be upgraded to 20GB and 32GB respectively.

The Acer Aspire 5 is said to have a 10% smaller footprint and is 16.7% lighter than its predecessor. It has a 14-inch Full HD IPS display with narrow bezels for more screen real estate. It’s meant to be an ultraportable workhorse, given that it’s 1.49 kg in weight and is 17.95 mm thin.

The Acer Aspire 3 is also a convenient workhorse, given that it’s 1.9 kg and 19.95 mm thin. It also has a bigger screen, utilizing a 15.6-inch Full HD display. Both laptops are expected to last at least 7 hours per full charge, though results may vary depending on use.

Pricing and Availability

The Acer Aspire 5 will be retailing for RM2,499 for the Intel Core i5 variant, while the i7 variant will retail for RM3,099 instead. The former will be available sometime at end of August 2019 whereas the latter is available from today onwards. An i3 variant is also expected to be available by end of August 2019, but pricing will be announced at another date. Both the i3 and i5 variants will be available in Pure Silver, Indigo Blue, and Charcoal Black.

The Acer Aspire 3 on the other hand will be available immediately with a retail price of RM2,399. It will be available in Obsidian Black, Indigo Blue, and Rococo Red colour options.
