Acer Malaysia Launches New TravelMate Laptops for Businesses and Professionals

At a launch event in Kuala Lumpur today, the folks over at Acer Malaysia has introduced three new TravelMate laptops for businesses and professionals. These are the ultrathin TravelMate P614, the TravelMate X314 with an emphasis on security, and the “essential” TravelMate P214.

Acer TravelMate P614

The Acer TravelMate P614 is an ultrathin and light machine designed for professionals and corporate users with an active on-the-go lifestyle. It boasts a battery life of up to 20 hours, has a 16.6mm-thin body, and weighs at a mere 1.1kg. If the long battery life isn’t enticing enough, it also has fast charging, getting 50% battery charge in roughly 45 minutes.

The laptop is powered by the Intel Core i7-8565U with 8GBs of RAM and 512GBs of NVMe PCIe G3x4 SSD. It utilizes a narrow bezel 14-inch Full HD touchscreen display with 72% NTSC colour gamut. The 180° hinge and 170° viewing angle makes it easier to share information with your fellow colleagues. Users can use the IR-supported camera for secure login. For added security and convenience, users can easily login by using the fingerprint scanner which is built into the power button.

The Acer TravelMate P614 will be retailing for RM5,699. It will be available starting Q3 2019 at all Acer official online stores and authorized dealers nationwide.

Acer TravelMate X314

Designed specifically for those who put security and privacy as top priority, the Acer TravelMate X314 is a productivity laptop for small to medium businesses. It features a fingerprint scanner which is embedded on the power button for easy login via Windows Hello. Users can also login using facial recognition technology with the IR webcam, which the shutter can be closed for additional security.

It boasts a battery life of up to 15 hours, a 20mm-thin aluminium body, and weighs merely 1.6kg. It is powered by the Intel Core i5-8265U with 8GBs of RAM and 256GB NVMe SSD. It is also equipped with a narrow bezel 14-inch Full HD IPS display with 178° viewing angle. The touchpad is said to have 27% more surface space compared to standard touchpads, and users can easily use gestures for easier interactions.

The Acer TravelMate X314 will be retailing for RM3,899. It will be available starting Q3 2019 at all Acer official online stores and authorized dealers nationwide.

Acer TravelMate P214

Designed for small to medium businesses that require the essentials, the Acer TravelMate P214 is a laptop with both portability and durability in mind. It is powered by up to the Intel Core i5-8250U and could come with either a 7200RPM 1TB HDD or a 256GB M.2 PCIe SSD. As for the RAM, it will have an on-board 4GB DDR4 which means you can upgrade it to 20GB RAM if needed.

It utilizes a 14-inch IPS display and can also have a customizable 15.6-inch display.Interestingly, it packs a built-in DVD Writer as well. It boasts a battery life of up to 14 hours, 20mm-thin body, and weighs at only 1.6kg. The hood cover has a specially designed texture which is said to provide extra scratch resistance.

The Acer TravelMate P214 will be retailing from RM2,599 to RM3,099. It will be available starting today onwards at Acer official online stores and authorized dealers nationwide.
