Acer Unveils New Line of Products Ahead of Computex 2017; Laptops and Tablet to Suit a Variety of Consumers

In a surprising twist, Acer has unveiled a  range of products ahead of Computex Taipei 2017.

We’re just days away from one of the hottest events for PC enthusiasts, Computex Taipei 2017. You can expect a whole range of products to be unveiled and showcased at the event from various brands.

Surprisingly, Acer has unveiled their new range of products ahead of the major event. If you can’t wait to see what they have in store, here’s all the details you need.

Acer Nitro 5

First from the new Acer Nitro family, the Nitro 5 series provides a good balance of powerful features with a sharp and stylish design. Acer is offering a variety of configurations that feature popular graphics and processors, providing consumers with a wide selection to meet different budgets and needs.

Gamers can choose from configurations featuring up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics paired with 7th Generation Intel Core i7 or i5 processors, or models with AMD Radeon™ RX550 graphics with 7th Generation AMD A-Series FX, A12 or A10 APUs. These models all feature Windows 10, and support up to 32GB of DDR4 2400 MHz memory.

It’s equipped with PCIe SSDs (up to 512GB) paired with an optional HDD for storage (up to 2TB), a Gigabit Ethernet port, and the 802.11ac 2×2 MIMO wireless technology. It has a comprehensive selection of ports including one USB 3.1 Type-C (Gen 1) port, one USB 3.0 port with power-off charging, two USB 2.0 ports, and an HDMI 2.0 port, which can support up to 90 Hz refresh rates.

As for the cooling system, the Nitro 5 features dual fans with Acer Coolboost technology, which delivers heightened fan speeds and cooling ability, and allows users to manually control the cooling process when heavy use requires an added boost.

All models comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display, with Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony technology working the audio departments. These work in tandem to provide immersive experiences for gaming or watching movies. The keyboard features red backlighting, and the WASD keys and touchpad are also outlined in red.

The Acer Nitro 5 will be available in North America in July starting at $799; in EMEA in August with prices starting at €1,099; and in China in July starting at ¥5,499.

Next up, we have the latest version of the Acer Spin 1 convertible notebook. With a sleek all-metal chassis, the Windows 10 device is lightweight, portable and supports Windows Ink through an Acer Active Stylus for creative users on the go.

Weighing in at just 1.25 kg (2.76 lbs), the 14 mm-thin chassis sports the latest Intel Pentium / Intel Celeron processors, 4 GB DDR3L memory as well as a choice of 32 / 64 / 128 GB eMMC storage. Its crisp 11.6-inch Full HD  touch-enabled display with IPS technology displays vibrant colors at 178-degree viewing angles. Acer claims that the new Spin 1 will have an 8-hour battery life on moderate use.

On all models the Precision Touchpad, which supports Windows 10 gestures, allows users to work faster and smoother due to accurate tracking of their fingertips and movements. To help with more complex projects, the Spin 1 is fully ready to work with the Acer Active Stylus accessory which enables precise and direct on-screen input, providing a natural pen-on-paper experience.

Users can quickly turn thoughts into action, capture ideas swiftly and naturally with Windows Ink. The device also features Acer BluelightShield which may help to reduce eye strain from prolonged screen viewing.

Speakers with Acer TrueHarmony technology are located on both sides of the device. Audio channels automatically reverse to ensure optimal sound quality in any mode, and are paired with a webcam for video chats. Additional connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, one USB 3.1 port, one USB 2.0 port, one HDMI port and one microSD (SDXC) card slot.

The Acer Spin 1 will be available in North America in July with prices starting at $329; and in EMEA in July with prices starting at €399.

Acer Iconia Tablets

And now, we have Acer’s tablet offerings. The new Iconia tablets are a series of 10-inch tablets, which include the new Iconia Tab 10 (A3-A50) designed for premium multimedia experiences, and the new Iconia One 10 (B3-A40FHD) with dual micro-USB ports for flexible connectivity options.

Powered by quad-core MediaTek processors and Android 7.0 Nougat, it is said to be able to deliver up to 8 hours of battery life. Wide-viewing-angle IPS displays and five-magnet speakers with DTS-HD Premium Sound. It utilizes 802.11ac wireless for wi-fi connectivity.

Iconia Tab 10 – True to Life Colors and Audio with a Punch

Designed with media consumption in mind, the Iconia Tab 10 (A3-A50) features a display with Quantum Dot technology, offering a wider color range with higher brightness, deeper saturation and better accuracy for dramatically more vivid visuals.

Despite its slim profile of under 9 mm (0.35 inch) in height, it has a subwoofer with four speakers to provide a richer and more immersive audio experience. The Iconia Tab 10 also features Acer MediaMaster which allows users to set preferences for different types of movies or music.

Iconia One 10 – Enhanced Productivity with Dual Micro-USB Ports

With dual micro-USB ports and On-The-Go (OTG) support, the Iconia One 10 (B3-A40FHD) provides enhanced productivity as it allows the device to be charged and connected to external devices such as storage or a mouse at the same time, while a Bluetooth keyboard can be connected for text input.

Smart Tools that Simplifies Tasks

The new Iconia Tab 10 and Iconia One 10 tablets feature smart tools developed by Acer that simplify everyday tasks:

  • EZ WakeUp – With simple gestures, the tablet awakens and loads a pre-selected app of choice.
  • EZ Snap – Makes it easy to take a screenshot with a simple three-finger pinch. Images can be easily edited and shared.
  • EZ Mode – Allows users to customize the system interface so that access to specified apps and data are restricted when sharing the tablet with family, friends or children.
  • Memory Cleaner – Manages the device’s memory, storage, and apps to optimize system functionality.

Pricing and availability for the tablets will be released in the near future.

 

Pokdepinion: Well, the new range of products look promising but we can’t say for sure if it’s good until we try it ourselves. We’ll see if that happens.
