Square Enix has been teasing a new female character for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT and in its arcade counterpart for a while now. Today, we got to know just exactly who this female character is, and it’s straight from Final Fantasy VIII.

The new character is Final Fantasy VIII‘s heroine Rinoa Heartilly. She will be added to the arcade game via an update sometime this month, while the DLC for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT on the PlayStation 4 will be released in late August 2018.

Alongside the announcement, we get a trailer introducing Rinoa, which you can watch below at the top of this post, which shows the first gameplay and her full move list. I don’t know about you, but looking at her renewed looks, I really wish that Square Enix would release a Final Fantasy VIII remake.

Game Director Takeo Kujiraoka did mention that he wanted Rinoa and Angelo to be added to the game. It appears that he managed to do just that, and fans of the game (as well as her) will be able to enjoy playing as her again, albeit in a more fast-paced manner.

If you’re interested in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, you can also check out the previously-announced DLC character, Final Fantasy VI‘s protagonist Locke Cole. If you’re not familiar with the game and want to read more, you can read our review and see what we think about it.

Pokdepinion: Personally, I would think that it would be tough to have Rinoa in a game like Dissidia Final Fantasy NT but looking at the trailer, it actually seems pretty good. Can’t wait to try her out.
