According to reports, Elon Musk, who currently serves as the CEO of Twitter, has announced that he plans to step down from his position. Speaking at the World Government Summit in Dubai via video link, he explained that he needs to “stabilize the organization” and “make sure it’s in a financially healthy place” before he moves on.
Although he has previously mentioned his intentions to step down, he has now revealed a possible timeline. Sources speaking to Bloomberg suggest that he is actively searching for someone to take over as Twitter CEO, with the transition expected to take place towards the end of the year. Musk’s apparent lack of involvement in Tesla has caused concern among some investors in the electric car company. However, Musk has stated that both Space X and Tesla now require less of his attention compared to three to five years ago.
During his conversation with the UAE’s minister of cabinet affairs, he referred to Twitter as “a startup in reverse” that still has much work to do before it can be considered stable. Musk, who currently works seven days a week with only six hours of sleep, hopes to reduce his working hours to “a mere 80 hours working week”.
Pokdepinion: Honestly, not surprised. I feel like his intention was to never stay in power for too long, but having him at the start of the takeover would draw a lot of attention as opposed to just giving it to another person.
