If you were eyeing the LG G6 and you are holding out to get it when it arrives officially in Malaysia, you will be glad to know that LG Malaysia has brought it here. LG’s latest flagship will be yours for just RM2999 and it comes in three colors, Astro Black, Ice Platinum and Mystic White.

For the uninitiated, you will be getting a 5.7″ QHD+ (2880 x 1440) FullVision display which makes the LG G6 the first smartphone sporting the extra-wide 18:9 aspect ratio in the world. Despite being longer, the LG G6 features optimized ergonomics, designed for single-handed usage. That’s not all, as the LG G6 also features supports Dolby Vision as well as HDR 10 for wider dynamic range to get the best viewing experience when streaming HDR video content from Netflix, Amazon and more content providers that offer the option.

Mobile photography enthusiasts will also remember the LG G5’s dual rear camera setup, which offered a wider field of view (FoV) than any other smartphone did. The LG G6 sees a return of the wide-angle lens, now boasting a 125-degree wide FoV. LG also opted for both the standard and wide-angle camera to feature 13MP sensors. Wider selfies are also possible thanks to the 100-degree FoV 5MP front camera.

The LG G6 is powered by a Snapdragon 821 chipset, which is a decision forced by Qualcomm and Samsung’s deal regarding the Snapdragon 835. Mated to 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of UFS 2.0 storage, expandable via microSD cards up to 2TB, the LG G6 offers plenty of space for your photos. Keeping the lights on is a 3300 mAh battery. All of that is packed into a metal frame with a high gloss back. For those who lead a more rugged lifestyle, the LG G6 is IP68 rated, promising water resistance in up to 1.5m of water for up to 30 minutes.

That’s enough talk for today. Get your LG G6 from the first week of May onwards at selected LG authorized retailers and get a free flip case worth RM174, while stocks last!

Pokdepinion: The LG G6 is one of the pioneers of the extra-wide display trend, but I feel saddened that they had to give up on their modular ambitions that they started with their LG G5. I believe that they could have polished their modular system, as it definitely held a lot of potential.
