Google Says Sales Have Dropped With The Pixel 3
Some of us might have been surprised with Google’s decision to introduce mid-range devices in the form of the Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL. It could be that they needed to offer more offerings in different smartphone segments, seeing how tough the competition is in the market these days.
It seems that recently, Google CFO Ruth Porat has said that the company sold fewer Google Pixel devices in Q1 compared to the same quarter of last year. She said “some of the recent pressures in the premium smartphone market” as one of the reason of the lesser sales.

It isn’t helped by the fact that the Pixel 3 came with a hefty price tag and it is only available in selected countries. In Q1 of last year, the company managed to gather $4.35 billion in profit while today, they managed to increase it to $5.45 billion. It’s unlikely that the Pixel 3 was one of the core factor of that increase. It’ll be interesting to see how they will do with the Pixel 3a and 3a XL.
Pokdepinion: Well I just hope that they get the price right with their upcoming phones and make them more accessible to more countries. Don’t get me wrong, Pixel is a great phone but their prices seems too much.
