HONOR View20 set for a January 2019 launch — first smartphone to use 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor?
The upcoming HONOR flagship is going to be called the HONOR View20, and it looks set to come with some pretty nice tricks up its sleeve. The launch is going to be in Paris on 22nd January 2019, so we are around a month and a half from the launch.
HONOR Malaysia has sent us some teasers to tickle our fancy, and it seems like the HONOR View20 is pretty promising. For starters, it will sport the Sony IMX 586 sensor. That’s the 48MP sensor that was rumored to be in the next Xiaomi, but it seems like the HONOR View20 will get the honors to be the first device featuring the said sensor.
HONOR claims another world first, which is an in-screen camera, but we already know that isn’t true. The Samsung Galaxy A8s has just been launched, and there was one from Lenovo even earlier. And even the HUAWEI nova 4 will be launched before it. So I am not sure why they are claiming the HONOR View20 as the world’s first in-screen camera smartphone. Perhaps it will be the first to hit global market?
The HONOR View20 will also be sporting Link Turbo. It will apparently combine WiFi and LTE to deliver better speeds and reduced lag. HONOR claims to have more than 20 patents involved in this technology, so it does look pretty interesting.
Well, we will be keeping an eye out for more information about the HONOR View20. What would you expect to see in the HONOR View20?
Pokdepinion: Promising features, let’s reserve our judgement for the final product though.
