How to Upload iOS Live Photos on Twitter as GIFs
It’s no surprise that Twitter is adding more features as time goes by. After all, being stale is what will kill a social media platform, which is what we’ve seen before with the likes of Friendster and Myspace. The latest update lets you upload iOS Live Photos as GIFs.
What’s great about this is that iOS users will not have to convert to any other format by themselves in order to get it to work. If you’re not sure how to do it, here’s a step-by-step guide:
- Open Twitter.
- Select and upload the Live Photo of your choice.
- The app will recognize the Live Photo and give you a GIF button.
- Tap on the GIF button and it will turn your Live Photo into a GIF.
- Voila.
On a different note, Twitter will now preserve the quality of all JPEG image files on the platform. It will only compress the preview shown in your feed, but nothing more. This means you can share even better quality photos on the platform moving forward.
