Apple iPad May Soon Be Foldable, Says Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo
The foldable tablet will be larger and set to launch in 2024.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that Apple is setting up for a big update for its iPad in 2024: the tablet in question will be a foldable one with a built-in kickstand, according to his inside sources. The information originated from a Hong Kong company named Anjie Technology – which would be supplying the carbon fiber kickstands for these models.

Anjie Technology will be the new beneficiary of the all-new design foldable iPad. There may be no new iPad releases in the next 9-12 months as the iPad mini refresh is more likely to begin mass production in 1Q24.— 郭明錤 (Ming-Chi Kuo) (@mingchikuo) January 30, 2023
Likely debuting on the Pro model, the new tech will allow Apple to use larger displays while maintaining its relatively portable form factor. So far, the 12.9-inch is the largest current iPads get – but reports from MacRumors are pointing to a 14-inch and even a 16-inch model in the works.
That being said, not all sources agree on Kuo’s predictions. Ross Young, another analyst, says there are multiple iPads with various OLED panels in the pipeline, sans foldable ones; and the same is reiterated by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg.
