iPhone 8 to start from RM3649 for 64GB variant; so expensive Apple is offering you help to buy it
We all knew the new iPhones were going to be expensive. We have seen leaks of Digi’s packages that will be bundled with the devices. But we didn’t expect the official pricing to surpass our conservative expectations.
The base iPhone 8 with 64GB storage will sport a RM3649 asking price, while the 256GB variant will be priced at RM4399. Want a bigger screen and a telephoto camera? Be ready to shell out RM4149 for the 64GB version of the iPhone 8 Plus, or an eye-watering RM4899 if you want 256GB of storage in your iPhone 8 Plus.
Oh but we are far from done. The iPhone X is even pricier. It starts at a pretty insane RM5149 for the 64GB model and goes all the way up to RM5899 for the 256GB version. It will be available in Space Gray and Silver, while the iPhone 8 duo will be offered in an additional Gold option.
So if you are thinking of alternative ways of spending RM3649, what can you get? You can get a decent gaming laptop like the ASUS FX553, or two of the Sony MDR-1000X wireless headsets for you and your imaginary friend with change to spare. Or if you are a member of the PC Master Race, maybe a ASUS ROG Strix GTX 1080 8GB OC?
Well at least you are getting a smartphone with more processing power than your average laptop which may or may not be nerfed through software updates. For those who are still reading, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be available starting 20th October. Fans of the iPhone X will have to wait a little longer with no availability announced yet. And if you need help buying it, just call 1800-80-6419 or have a chat with them. Maybe they will give you a discount? I kid, iKid.
