Samsung has never made a mark in the mid-range segment. In the competitive segment where manufacturers have to fight to release a device that’s not only good, but also affordable. It seems that Samsung is aiming to change that with the Samsung Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A30.

According to a post in a Facebook group showing two very important slides, the Samsung Galaxy A50 pricing is expected to be around RM1199, while the Galaxy A30 is slated to be priced at RM799 in Malaysia. If these leaks are true, Samsung will be making huge waves in the mid-range smartphone market. Of course, do take this leak with a pinch of salt.

The Samsung Galaxy A50’s claim to fame will definitely be its in-display fingerprint scanner. While we aren’t sure whether it will be the same ultrasonic sensor found in the Samsung Galaxy S10 series, it’s already cool enough to have an in-display fingerprint scanner in a device this affordable.

The following are the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy A30 and Samsung Galaxy A50:

  • Exynos 7904, octa-core up to 1.8 GHz, 14nm FinFET
  • Up to 4GB RAM

  • 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera

Samsung Galaxy A50 Specifications
