Lexus Slide — it’s a hoverboard
What appears to be a prop out of a sci-fi movie is actually a real piece of hardware that will be shown to the public for real this August 5th.
It relies on some magical combination of magnetic levitation and liquid nitrogen (which explains the smoke). A downside to magnetic levitation is that you will need magnets on or under the surface you want to hover over with the Slide.
Oh well. A nerd can dream.
