Xiaomi have today unveiled their brand new Mi Mix 2S in Shanghai which was broadcasted live on Youtube just moments ago.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S Unveiled

The new flagship device from the company feature a dual lens camera that combines a 12MP wide angle lens paired with a 12MP telephoto lens. In addition to that, it will also feature AI, a trend that is getting more common in today’s smartphone market.

Mi Mix 2S features a near bezel-less design, coming in with a ceramic body and an aluminum frame. While lately there’s been a surge of phones coming in with a notch at the top of their device, Xiaomi has not adopted it and instead opted to shrink the bezels above and below.

The device features an AMOLED screen which offers a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels. Powering the device is the latest Snapdragon 845 processor which comes in two RAM variants, 6GB and 8GB of RAM. In the unveiling, the company demonstrated that the device has an AnTuTu score of 277,178, which they claimed that the device beats its competitors.

Storage wise, it comes with 3 variants which includes 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. The device will run on Android 8.0 on the go when it comes out with Xiaomi’s MIIUI.

The company couldn’t help but try to compare its device with the iPhone X (well who wouldn’t, right?) as they emphasized on the camera department a lot in the unveiling. The camera’s sensor features a Sony IMX363 sensor inside that comes with large 1.4µm pixels, offering performance in low light conditions.

In addition to that, it was announced that the Mi Mix 2S managed a score of 97 at DxoMark, which is an impressive score to say the least.

With the addition of AI, there are new voice controls that you can utilize. The device supports Qi wireless charging for its 3400mAh battery.

The standard model of the device that comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage costs 3299 Chinese Yuan (that’s around RM2036) where else the the high end variation of 8GB and 256GB of storage comes at a price tag of 3999 Chinese Yuan (RM2469) and comes with fast charging 7.5W Qi wireless charging pad.

Pokdepinion: I’m just hoping that the device will make its way to our shores here in Malaysia. For those specifications, the price is quite the price.
