Mozilla Firefox Soon To Come With Premium Subscription
It seems like Mozilla will be introducing an online subscription service for their Firefox browser that will feature services such as VPN and cloud storage. The detail was revealed in an interview with t3n.
Despite the news, only small details has been revealed about the service. The online subscription is reported to come this October. Regarding on why they are introducing the service, well it seems like Mozilla is looking for an alternate way of making revenue. Mozilla has said that they don’t want to rely too heavily on search companies that pay to be featured in their browser.
Mozilla has given assurance to their users that existing Firefox features will remain the same as they shift to the new subscription service. Dave Camp, senior vice president of Firefox has said “A high-performing, free and private-by-default- Firefox browser will continue to be central to our core service offerings”.
Pokdepinion: I understand the VPN part, but cloud storage? I wonder how will the package be like and how much they are pricing it. Guess we’ll need to wait till October to find out (or maybe sooner?).
