In preparation for the 11.11 sales, Xiaomi will debut a new Mi Band 1s, updated with a new optical heart rate sensor. The heart rate sensor is the most anticipated feature since the first Mi Band’s launch. Xiaomi also said that a lot of improvement has been done on the new Mi Band 1s, including a new material for its strap which was easily broken on the previous version.

Retaining a similar design and size, the Mi Band 1s is only 0.5 gram heavier than the previous version. Specifications wise, it still uses the same 4.0 Bluetooth chip, ADI sensor and IP67 water resistant rating. What distinguishes the Mi Band 1s from the first version is only the heart rate sensor.

The Mi Band 1s said to do a better job than its predecessor when it comes to tracking your sleep patterns and the new optical heart rate sensor is said to be as accurate as the one in Apple Watch. It’s a positive achievement for Xiaomi to include a heart rate sensor in such a small package and of course with the addition of a new piece of hardware, the Mi Band 1s is tested to have shorter battery life than the previous version, reduced from an average 40 days with the predecessor to 20 days for the 1s.

Pokdepinion: The Mi Band 1s is suitable for those living an active lifestyle and for whom are strict with their sleep schedules. The heart rate sensor will improve the band’s functionality and many previous Mi Band users will appreciate it. If you have an active lifestyle, the Mi Band 1s will definitely improve your daily life.
