Unlike the predecessor Plextor M6E, the new Plextor M8PE will not be the same as it will run with faster NVMe protocol. It features an X4 PCIe 3.0 connection and 4K random read speed up to 270,000 IOPS and writes speed up to 150,000 IOPS.

The Plextor M8E is using M.2 SSD also features Plextor’s exclusive features the PlexTurbo RAM and PlexVault. From the rumors the Plextor M8PE will be using Marvell 88SS1093 NVMe controller.

For the moment there is no information detail about the capacity size, actually read and write speed, price and availability but at CES 2016 later will reveal it all.

Pokdepinion: It’s look like the Plextor M7E might be cancelled since the Plextor M8PE has shown on the surface. In additional the Plextor M7E itself can’t compete to the Samsung 950 Pro M.2 SSD.
