Qualcomm has introduced their latest mid-range chipset, the Snapdragon 675, where it offers a substantial upgrade from the Snapdragon 670.

The new Snapdragon 675 provides new architectures excel in gaming, camera performance as well as artificial intelligence (AI). In terms of gaming, the Snapdragon 675 is designed to deliver a high frame-rate and smooth gaming experience, the company has said.

Snapdragon 675 features the company’s brand new fourth-gen Kryo CPU, the Kryo 460 with two high-power 2GHz cores and six low-power 1.7GHz cores that gives a boost to its everyday performance as well as gaming performance. It’s claimed to be 30% faster in launching games and offers 35% faster web browsing compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 670.

As for the camera section, the 675 uses a Spectra 250L image signal processor, which is able to support a triple camera and one that is able to switch between telephoto, wide angle, and super-wide angle for a 5X optical zoom.

Last but not least is the AI features in the chipset. With it, it offers a more secure yet speedy facial unlock, which they claim to be 3x faster than its predecessor.

The new Qualcomm Snapdragon is expected to hit smartphones in Q1 of next year, 2019.

Pokdepinion: Okay, I can’t wait to get my hands on a device that uses it and test it out for myself. It would be interesting if Qualcomm decides to introduce a new chip for entry-level devices though.
